With over 18 years of experience in public administration and institutional management. Experienced in leading and managing administrative processes. Skilled in the development and planning of public policies and the management of complex situations. Proven track record of achieving results, promoting transparency and accountability, and continuously improving institutional performance. Drawing on her professional legal expertise, she has made valuable contributions to the drafting of legal acts for numerous institutions.

Mrs. Venera Çerkini graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law at the University of Prishtina. She continued her postgraduate studies, earning a Master of Science degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law.

Mrs. Çerkini began her professional career at the Ministry of Local Government Administration in 2008. She has held various senior leadership positions, including Director of the Legal Department and Director of the Department for Monitoring Municipalities. Through the positions she has held, she has contributed to improving the legal framework, strengthening and continuously improving local governance, and providing better services to citizens and communities.

From January 2022 to February 2023, Mrs. Çerkini served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, the highest administrative position within the institution. During this period, she played a key role in advancing reforms within the Ministry.

At the beginning of 2023, she was appointed Executive Director of the Agency for Rural Development, operating under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development. During this period, the Agency implemented important projects in the field of agricultural development. As a leader, in addition to demonstrating initiative, she directed projects that delivered results in advancing national agricultural policies.

In September 2023, Mrs. Çerkini was appointed Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, the highest administrative position within the Ministry. With dedication and vision, she established a structure for the development and strengthening of this sector. Agriculture is considered one of the most important sectors for the economic development of Kosovo.

Since September 2026, Mrs. Venera Çerkini has served as the head of the Food and Veterinary Agency, the highest-level institution responsible for food safety control, animal health, and plant health.
